Two Minute Tuesday - New Believers
It's all about relationships and connecting people with others!
No matter what programs we have, and no matter what resources we have available, all that matters is that we encourage people to take the next step in their faith journey! The way that needs to happen is through relationships.
I can't bear the thought of a stillborn child. I did a funeral for a family who endured this pain. There isn't anything harder than being with someone who has just lost a child. That image carries over in my mind to those who accept Christ and become a part of his family. They are adopted as his children. If they don't begin to grow and get connected with other believers who can walk along side them, they are most likely to fall away, stillborn.
Ministry to new believers is imperative! We must do everything we can to encourage these newborns to grow. That happens through relationships. As we interact with, care for, and encourage new believers, more of them will take the next steps and begin growing in Christ. The alternative is unnacceptable!
Jesus told us to go and make disciples. He didn't tell us to go and make converts. There's a difference, and that difference is in connecting people with others. It's all about relationships. It always has been. How are you showing that you care?
